2015 Montrose Triathlon Event Schedule and Start Times

29 May 15: Updated details of the event schedule for the 2015 Montrose Triathlon, including the start list and estimated start times, have now been published on the Tri Angus website.

Changes have been made to the advertise start times for the novice event.  Please take note of the updated times below which were emailed out to all novice participants w/c 25th May.

The times listed are provisional and are based on the estimated swim times provided by participants.  It is anticipate that some of the swim times will be quicker than estimated which will have a knock-on effect for the event schedule.

There are 7 heats of swimmers on Sunday.  Heats 1-3 will be used solely for the sprint participants.  Heat 4 will have the last of the sprint swimmers as well as the first of the novice swimmers.  Don’t worry, participants will be in a lane with people who are in the same event as them and who have provided a similar estimated swim time.  Heats 5-7 will be solely for novice participants.

The event marshals will keep participants right as to timings on the day so please listen out for our announcements.

Local Scottish Triathlete Andrew Woodroffe has written an article for the Tri Angus website giving his top race day tips.  To read this article click here.  Tri Angus also have an article the website which provides a detailed run through of what to be expect on the day – well worth a read for first time triathletes and seasoned pro’s!  www.triangus.co.uk/first-triathlon-no-sweat/

Don’t forget, we have a team of massage therapists from the Scottish Massage School at the event this Sunday to help ease those aching muscles post event!  They will be providing massages for participants from 12.30pm.  Anyone who would like an appointment just needs to book in on the day.  We ask that you make a donation to our official charity partner Macmillan in return for their time.

The forecast for Sunday is looking a bit mixed so please consider this when you are packing for the event.  Participants are allowed to take a small box into transition to store their belongings and keep them dry.  There is not a lot of space between bikes though so the emphasis is on  small.  If your box is too big it will not be allowed.
