Call for Volunteers

13 May 2014:  On Sunday, 1 June 2014 Montrose is set to host its first triathlon.  In order to stage the best event possible, the event organisers are looking for volunteers to help at this brand new event.

Tri Angus Limited, a not-for-profit social enterprise, was set up to run triathlon events in Angus. After the Olympic successes of London 2012 and with all of Scotland looking forward to the Commonwealth Games this summer, there has never been a better time to get involved with sport in general and triathlon specifically.

The 2014 Montrose Triathlon consists of two races on Sunday, 1 June 2014:

The races are based at the recently refurbished Montrose Sports Centre. The swim will take place in the superb 6 lane swimming pool. The bike route then takes in some of the best views Angus has to offer as it travels out of town onto the quiet country roads. Finally, the run offers participants the chance to breathe in some fresh sea air as it negotiates the beach front.

The event is fully subscribed with 180 participants taking part on the day.

Volunteer Opportunities

Why should I Volunteer?

The event would not exist without the support of volunteers. The volunteer roles are vital and you will make an enormous difference to the competitor and spectator event experience. Volunteering is a great way to have fun, make friends and gain experience. Volunteering for the event can also give you the opportunity to test out potential career choices.

Equally, if you know of others who can join you then please ask them to get in touch.

What will I be doing?

Roles are varied and you could be directing athletes, helping at the start/finish, providing information for spectators or handing out the all-important medals!

What’s included?

Food and refreshments after the event

A great achievement that gives you practical experience for future events.

When will I be needed?

Planning for the event is well under way, and it would be great to know that you want to come and help us at the event on Sunday, 1 June 2014. Volunteers will be required from approximately 0900 to 1500

If you have any additional questions or would like to volunteer at this event please get in touch by e-mailing info@triangus.co.uk.
